I will explain the Pingolf levels in UFO 50 and how to finish them in this guide.
Pingolf Guide
Pingolf is my favorite game from UFO 50 so far, but getting 0 or below on each level is super hard! I wanted to share my thoughts on how I play the levels and give some tips to help you out.
General Tips:
- The Dunk: You can do a “dunk” by pressing the swing button while in the air. This can help you cover extra distance or jump over obstacles. It’s useful for fixing mistakes, so practice it!
- Experiment: If some of my strategies feel tricky, try coming up with your own. The game is pretty deep, so there’s lots of ways to play.
- Need Help? There’s a UFO 50 Discord where people talk about all the games in the collection. Feel free to ask questions there or in the comments of this guide.
How to get Cherry Clear for Pingolf
Hole 1:
- Go full speed and try to hit either the first or second hill. When the ball lands in the sand (a little past the bumper), just lob it into the hole.
- A user named Boo found a tougher hole-in-one trick: go full speed into the first or second ramp and dunk into the purple cone. This bounces off the bumper, leading to a hole-in-one.
Hole 2:
- Skip the ball across the water by shooting full speed. Then lob it past the second helicopter. You can try a dunk to save a swing, but be careful of the square above the hole. Even if you miss, it usually lands in a good spot for an easy finish.
Hole 3:
- This one is tough. I’ve gotten a hole-in-one once, but it’s super precise!
- Otherwise, shoot full speed into the bouncy line and try to avoid the guards. If you don’t get the hole-in-one, use about half charge to finish it in two shots.
Hole 4:
- Swing over the two suns and dunk onto the ramp or flat ground. This should help you pass the silver bolts. Then hit as far right as you can, dodging the suns. With good timing, you can avoid the first purple obstacle and finish in two.
Hole 5:
- This hole isn’t very consistent for me. Aim to stop near the purple barrel, then shoot up left. Ideally, you’ll dunk onto the ramp and finish in two, but you might fall back out. I recommend taking an extra shot instead.
Hole 6:
- Start by going above the blue platform. If you land on top, shoot between the striped platform and ceiling. If you land on the bottom, aim for the purple barrel. Once past it, use a dunk to get closer or take an extra shot. The suns here should help you finish easily.
Hole 7:
- This is another tricky one. You can skip the first sand pit with a precise water bounce, or go through both sand pits and finish with one more shot. A dunk on the small ramp can save you a shot.
Hole 8:
- The starting shot here is brutal. Aim straight right and use your dunk to land in the small tunnel. Then lob it right again and dunk to land on the platform above the floor. Finally, lob it into the hole. Aim for the purple—it slows you down for an easy finish.
Hole 9:
- This hole is a nightmare. My advice? Aim, shoot, and hope for the best!
Hole 10:
- A hole-in-one is possible here! Aim for the first bouncy line, then dunk into the second to hit the purple. It’s a really hard shot, so you’ll need to practice a lot (I mess it up in my video).
Hole 11:
- A hole-in-one is possible here too! Shoot above the platform and dunk on the first ramp down. If you don’t get it, gently shoot from the left onto the ramp, but watch out for the little pegs.
Hole 12:
- Another sand trap + water stage! You can take a risk or play it safe and go through the sand traps. Avoid hitting the fish, and dunk to skip the purple barrel. Be careful not to get too much speed, or you’ll fall in the water. Once you lob it over, the hole is easy to reach.
Hole 13:
- Start with a nice lob. You might be able to dunk over the first wall, but it’s tricky. Try to stay further left than I did to avoid an extra swing at the end.
Hole 14:
- Shoot almost full charge at the bouncy line, then dunk to avoid the bumper. At the end, either lob it in or shoot full charge at the ramps on the floor.
Hole 15:
- Shoot full charge above the purple box into the upward ramp. Once you’re in the metal bolt section, use your dunk to get over the gap. If you shoot full speed perfectly into the tunnel, you can finish in two shots. This is one of the hardest holes, so practice a lot.
Hole 16:
- Lob over the start and try to land further than I did. Luckily, the purple obstacle at the end saved me and let me finish in two shots.
Hole 17:
- This is a precise one. Shoot just over the top peg, then dunk to get past the sand pit for an easier second shot. Lob between the second and third peg to land in the hole.
Hole 18:
- Lob into the sand pit and get rid of the purple barrel. Avoid the fish and dunk to keep the ball from falling back. Once you’re close to the wall, use a lob to finish in the hole. If you’re far away, lob toward the purple cone to slow down and land in the hole.
