The features and cheat codes you can obtain from the Terminal in UFO 50 are listed in detail in this guide.
Terminal Guide and Cheats Codes
Terminal guide and cheats codes!
Basic Commands:
Each of these commands needs to be followed by one of the four letter game codes listed below:
- HELP: lists all of these commands as applied to the named game.
- LIST: lists the four digit codes of all games starting at the named one. You can also enter a four digit number to start from that game number, eg LIST-0000 to start at the beginning. You can enter numbers higher than 51, but all slots will be empty.
- INFO-, DESC-, HIST: displays one of the information pages for the named game. These can be viewed in the game details window on the main menu.
- EXEC: runs the named game just as if you had chosen it from the menu.
- COPY-, NAME-, MOVE-, EDIT: are accepted, but appear as “disabled”. These are likely out of scope of the game and cannot be enabled.

Treasure Hunt
The Terminal Treasure Hunt is a meta-quest that covers all 50 games and gives incremental access to an additional hidden game.
Looking at the information page for Night Manor will tell you that it is the “first game directed by longtime designer Greg-milk.” Entering GREG-MILK at the terminal will show a distinctive arrow icon (which you may have seen in the Terminal before) and a binary map that corresponds to the game selection menu. There is a single “1” in the map, which matches the game Mini & Max.
Enter Mini & Max and explore the low level. There is one door which leads to a room that is empty except for the same up arrow sign. In this room, open the Terminal, and you will see the first clue of the treasure hunt.
To complete each clue, you need to enter the correct game, arrange a particular situation in that game, and then open the Terminal. This will give the next clue.
Clue | Game | Action |

LOUD ENOUGH TO WAKE THE NEIGHBOURHOOD CAT | Party House | Admit guests until the party is within one guest of being shut down due to trouble (the cat on the top right of the screen will wake up), then open Terminal. |

OVERTIME KICKS THE REFEREE INTO ACTION | Kick Club | Run the level timer out so that the referee appears, and open the Terminal. |

Hidden Metagame
Some clues in the Treasure Hunt will give you a code leading into the hidden meta-game. This provides background on UFO Soft and can be used to find prototype games; in most cases, playing and completing a prototype game is necessary to reveal the next treasure hunt clue.
There are multiple codes to access the meta game; they determine your starting location. Most doors in the meta game are “locked from the other side” and can be unlocked by using a later starting location to spawn on the other side of the door. These are revealed gradually via the treasure hunt:
- Start: EXEC-MIAS
- 2: HIDE-HOLE
- 3: SOAP-STOP
- 4: 0229-1988
Prototype Games
These prototype games are accessed via the Treasure Hunt, and most give Treasure Hunt clues when completed.
- EXEC-COLO: a version of Paint Chase in which enemies do not paint the level, but kill you on impact. Paint the entire level in time to win.
- EXEC-HOVR: a simplified version of Campanella with reduced graphics and only a single room. Also, harder.
- EXEC-GODB: a knockback based 2D combat game. Defeat two thugs to win.
Cheats and Variants
These codes invoke either cheat or variant versions of the built in games. These are unlocked through multiple different methods, including completing the games at different levels and parts of the meta game. Note that not all are cheats – many are variants, and some actually make the games harder. Also, some games have no codes.
