In this guide I will simply explain specific puzzles and tips for night manor in UFO 50.
Guide to Night Manor
This is a basic tips guide for Night Manor.
Basic Tips
First things first, I want to mention that “dying” in this game does not matter. There is a slightly different ending you can get if you never die, but you can still get the cherry and gold disks with deaths. Sometimes it may be faster to die than to hide.
If you want to avoid death for the best ending, I recommend running around wildly away from the killer, you will either find a hiding place or lose the killer.
Secondly, know that there is a large outside area beyond the pool. I was stuck for a few minutes not noticing this. It’s stupid, I know, but it may help!
Third, make sure to inspect things with the eyes (look action), there may be things you miss, and you may find things out you did not expect to.
Last tip for this section, each key only ever unlocks the lock with that same material. If you know the lock is gold, don’t waste your time with a silver key on that lock.
Specific Puzzles
At some point you will pick up a doll. Despite having many options for opening the doll, you must use the knife. I don’t know how I missed this.
You will sometimes find instructions or codes. They go into your inventory to use later. (This spoiler will be how to get the computer password.) There is a computer password hidden in the dollhouse, which you will then get in your inventory. You must inspect the dollhouse with the magnifying glass to get the password. This is not so hard to miss, but if you don’t look at the dollhouse before trying to take it, you might not notice.
There are also instructions for the maze, which you can unlock the gate to with a few gems. This can be found, somewhat obviously on the wall in the children’s playroom. Unfortunately, you have to get the instructions in your inventory. Do not waste time trying to memorize them yourself. If you need them, refer back to my first tip in this section to help out with getting them!
There is a mummy you encounter early on. Despite having many options for cutting the finger off, you must use a specific (in my case) late-game item. I don’t remember which BUT it won’t work for a few specific items. Keep looking around, you got this!. Also, there isn’t a way to make the angle easier except this item. Just keep looking.
There’s a fuse box in the basement. It’s useless, don’t worry about it. The solution is closer than you think.
