ATLYSS Removing Skills and Changing Classes

This guide will show you how to remove learned skills from the skills tab in ATLYSS and how to remove/change your character’s class.

How to Remove Skills & How to Change Classes

Changing class cannot be done in-game, but unlearning skills can!

Removing Skills

To start, simply load into the game on whatever character you wish to remove skills from. From there, open the skills tab however you see fit.

Now, simply right click on the icon of the skill you want to remove from your learnt skills, and you’ll be given the option to drop them.

The skill will then be forgotten, and any related quests will be returned to their vendors.

Changing Classes

Before doing any of this, buy a Tome of Unlearning and use it.

This is just in case, but it’s better to be safe.

Now here’s where things will get a little complicated. If ATLYSS is open, close it. You’re going to need to find the save of your character first that you want to change the class of. It can be found in your game’s files, which can be easily found through your steam library itself by right-clicking on ATLYSS in the list on the left, like so:

And now to find your characters, go to ATLYSS_Data > profileCollections

The contents should look something like this (ignore blockbench):

What we’re looking for in here are the files named: “atl_characterProfile_x” where “x” is the profile slot this character is associated with, starting at 0. So the first character you have made in game is “atl_characterProfile_0” and then the second is “atl_characterProfile_1” for example.

After you find the correct profile, I’d recommend backing it up by making a copy and storing it elsewhere, just in case you happen to make a mistake. We’re going to be messing with the data here!

We’re going to need a way to edit to contents of our save data. You can open your save file with any text editor, such as notepad.

Once opened, you’re going to want to find the section that looks like this:

As you can see, the game knows I’m a Bandit. While you can simply change this to whatever class you’d please, I’d recommend simply changing it to nothing and following the next few steps to make sure the game is finding its way to removing your class fully. You should change it to look like so:

If you were to go into game with just this change though, the quest for whatever class you were previously will be gone permanently. Here’s how to fix that.

You’re going to have to find the list of quests you’ve completed inside of your save data. It should look like this:

We’re going to have to remove the quest associated with our class. It will vary from class to class just what exactly the name of the quest was, but for Bandit the quest’s name is “Devious Pact,” and we’re going to have to remove it completely from the list of quests.

Here’s how it should look after removing it completely:

Now if we save the new profile (while keeping its name the same as our old one) and place it back into our profiles folder, you should no longer have your class and can pick up the quest for a new one!
