You can find the Performer skill in this guide, which is also known as the Music skill in Elin due to its significant and effortless earning potential.
Starting Off
To begin, grab your instrument of choice and perform for humanoid NPCs to earn a modest amount of gold and experience, boosting both your pocket and your Music skill. Visit the Trainer in Tinker’s Camp or Noyel to increase the skill’s potential, or learn it if you haven’t already. Continue performing until your character no longer risks getting “booed off the stage” by the crowd for any discordant notes. This risk usually fades around level 40–45 of the Music skill and disappears entirely at higher levels.
Earning Music Experience
Earning experience in Music is straightforward but depends on earning money from your audience. If your character isn’t receiving money, they aren’t gaining experience, which means no level-ups or additional income. It’s wise to perform in crowded areas for maximum tips. Good places include towns, with the top of the giant tree at Specwing being a notable spot, but an even better location exists—the Fortune Bell Casino.
The Fortune Bell Casino
The Fortune Bell Casino, a luxurious airship outside Palmia, can be accessed via the teleporter in southeastern Palmia. Upon boarding, head to the second level using the central teleportation device.
The casino is filled with patrons eager to tip a skilled musician. The rooms are small and packed, making it one of the best venues in the game for performances. So, perform for these patrons and pocket their money—after all, they’d likely spend it on the slot machines anyway.
Note: Your audience will tire over time, and you’ll know it’s time to move on when they start saying things like, “Boring,” or “This song again?” With each visit, you can easily earn thousands of gold in just 8–10 minutes. Despite the opulent setting slowing my old laptop down, I’ve managed to amass over 100k gold using this method alone.
My Charisma and Music skill stand at 44 and 76, respectively, with the Music skill training very quickly in the casino due to the high experience gains.
One Last Thing:
Be sure to enable the “Automatically keep playing instrument while performing” option in your character’s Strategy tab. This setting allows your character to perform continuously until you make another input, saving your hands and mouse from extra clicks.
