In this guide I will list the details for puzzle solutions and codes in ZERO PROTOCOL.

Codes and Levels in ZERO PROTOCOL

This guide will help you solve puzzles via little hints and nudges to find codes yourself if you get stuck.

  • You can shoot padlocks off.
  • In this guide, X’s indicate what should be filled on grids.
  • Each level generally ends after an elevator. Sometimes a hatch.

LEVEL 1 Medical Center

  • First Room: 1685
    • Where to Find: On the computer in the same room.
  • Intensive Care 2 (Right Outside First Room): 542768
    • Hint: One of the two terminals inside the room opposite of Doctor B. Wayne’s Office, option 1 (ICU 2, password).
    • Where to Find: Room opposite of Doctor B. Wayne’s Office, on a notepad paper next to the terminal. Combine with hydrogen peroxide in the Research Department (Room 1.1) to reveal the password.
  • Doctor B. Wayne’s Office: 2001
    • Hint: Paper on bench right outside the first room (Intensive Care Unit 1).
    • Where to Find: Poster seen through the window in the room with the save point. If facing the save point, strafe right slightly and go straight to see it through the window.
  • Admin S. Sobolev’s Office: 128418
    • Hint: One of the two terminals inside the room opposite of Doctor B. Wayne’s Office, option 2 (strange symbols).
    • Where to Find: Room opposite of Doctor B. Wayne’s Office.
  • Security Office: 950318
    • Where to Find: Wall inside the same office. Go around the other side of the checkpoint and look through the window.
  • EPS Room (Power Room): 252
    • Where to Find: Pager code is found on a note in the room with the grid puzzle, right above the controls. Needs to be opened via the terminal in the room opposite of Doctor B. Wayne’s Office (option 3, door control: EPS).

  • Storage Room: 5242
    • Where to Find: Paper on crates right past the Security door and the first wire you have to jump over.

LEVEL 2 Storages/Security

  • Turret: HX 222 DN 023
    • To Get Here: Use the key found in the bathroom on the floor or shoot the lock.
    • Where to Find: Storage. Note on the right shelf. Notice that turret #7 is missing.
  • Security (Upon Returning Back): 12451
    • Where to Find: Shower room inside the barracks (Sleeping Quarters), on the poster.
  • C.S.O. R. Brooks Office: 3110
    • Hint: Note inside the barracks (Sleeping Quarters). “I wouldn’t be surprised if the code was his son’s birthday.” The code is based on the European date format (DD/MM).
    • Where to Find: Admin D. Su’s Office next door, on terminal option 1, A Personal Request. Check the date: 30/10 (10/30 USA). The note says his son’s birthday is tomorrow (31/10 EU). Code is 3110.
  • Storage 2: 55555
    • Where to Find: Piece of paper right next to the door. Your sanity must be higher than 90% to read it. Once inside, shoot the lock off. No key needed.

LEVEL 3 Labs/Greenhouse

  • Laboratory A: 28006
    • Where to Find: On the window next to the door. It’s written backwards.

LEVEL 4 Vents

  • Kitchen/Canteen (Room 3): 144126
    • Hint: Terminal in Admin V. Verner’s Office, option 1, “The password has been changed.”
    • Where to Find: Dormitory Room 4. Note in the room.
  • Locked Door in Kitchen: 112263
    • Hint: Note next to the door.
    • Where to Find: Dormitory Room 3. Book on bed.
  • Security Post Card Bypass Terminal: 388 968 625 898
    • How to Solve:
      • Hint 1: Ignore the underscores.
      • Hint 2: Start with one of the 5 sets of numbers in the first column on the left.
      • Hint 3: Treat the top set of numbers as one large number. The 5 rows on both sets are a coincidence.

LEVEL 6 Life Support Floor

  • Generator Room: 4221
    • Where to Find: Map on the wall in the Power Engineering room shows the code.
  • Storage: 4412
    • Where to Find: Map on the wall in the Power Engineering room shows the code.
  • Restroom: 121017
    • Where to Find: SE section of the Generator room. Note on the floor. Requires high sanity to see.
  • Workshop: 13
    • Hint: Security Post terminal, option 1 (“Once again about passwords!”). “I set the simplest one, two digits.” Download the FLOOR PLAN and look at it.
    • Where to Find: On the map once you get it. Press M.
  • Main Engineer: 515253
    • Where to Find: Walls opposite the door. Requires low sanity (<50%).
  • Air Purification Grid Puzzle:

  • Solution: Find the chart in the same room that shows what to input. Go outside and look above the windows for numbers 1 and 8. Go back to the chart and input the grid code for 1 and 8.

LEVEL 7-1 Server Floor

(If you took the vent instead of the elevator)

  • Admin R. Villar’s Office: 14001
    • Where to Find: Room 6 (Data Analysis Department). Enter using a keycard from a zombie on this floor.
  • Control Terminal 1: X 0 X X X X X X X
    • Where to Find: Note in Room (Data Analysis Department).
  • Control Terminal 2: Use the Master Keycard on the door lock. Rearrange top to bottom, left to right, as shown on the top of the note.
  • Security Post (Room 5): 65412
    • Where to Find: Room 6 (Data Analysis Department). Enter using a keycard from a zombie.
  • Storage Room (Room 4): 306208
    • Where to Find: On the walls outside the Security Post (Room 5). Requires low sanity.

LEVEL 7-2 Laboratory 44

(If you took the elevator instead of the vent)

  • No Map/No Names. Pick a Door: 1340
    • Where to Find: Look through the window of the security office. It’s on a note.
  • Jail Grid C2: X 0 X X 0 0 0 X X
    • Where to Find: CS D. Baraev’s Office, on a terminal option 1 (Updated key table).

LEVEL 8-1 Administrative Floor

(If you took the vent instead of the elevator on Level 6)

  • Across from V. Altman’s Office: 200705
    • Where to Find: Given by the Talking Supercomputer.
  • V. Altman’s Office: 000004
    • Where to Find: Given by the person inside the room across from this one (big spoiler!).

LEVEL 8-2 The Monolith

(If you took the elevator instead of the vent on Level 6)

  • Follow directions given by Victor Altman. The 6 triangle things are solved by going around the corners and matching the symbols on the walls. Walk across the bridge to finish.
