This guide contains a list of all the fish locations you should be able to find on Luma Island so far.
Luma Island Fishing Guide
To catch a fish in Luma Island, you first need a Fishing Rod and Bait. Thankfully, the game gives you your Fishing Rod for free after completing the Tutorial. You can further upgrade it using the Anvil in front of the Stonemason’s Shop. But for fishing, the basic Fishing Rod is good enough.
For Bait, you’ll need the Bug Net, also unlocked after finishing the Tutorial. Occasionally, you will see tiny caterpillars running around. Equip your Bug Net, approach the caterpillar, and press the Left Mouse Button to catch it. Chopping down fern bushes or grass can also sometimes spawn a caterpillar for you to catch.
Now that you have both your Fishing Rod and Bait, head to any of the ponds or water sources in the game where you will see fish swimming. Select your Fishing Rod from your inventory and click the Left Mouse Button to attach the Bait. As you approach the water source, a prompt will appear to cast your Fishing Rod.
Aim for the swimming fish, and after a second, the fishing mini-game will begin. In this mini-game, you need to keep your bobber on top of the fish. If you manage to keep the bobber on the fish for long enough, you will get the prompt to reel it in. Click the Left Mouse Button rapidly to catch the fish.
Locations of All Fish in Luma Island
During the fishing profession on Luma Island, you need to memorize the locations of different fish throughout the entire mapping on Luma Island. So far, we’ve only fully explored the Town and Forest. The next stop to explore is the Mountain. We’ll keep it updated.
The Town
- Bait needed: Caterpillar
- The Bait can be found simply on the ground.
- Use the Bug Net given to you from the beginning of the game.
The Town has 3 different types of fishes:
- Penny Herring ° ｡ 𓆝° ｡
- Silver Snapper ·˙‧̍̊ 𓆞 ·˙‧̍̊
- Gilded bass * ‧̍̊ ˚𓆛˙‧̍̊
The Forest
- Bait needed: Grasshopper
- The Bait can be found simply on the ground.
- Use the Bug Net given to you from the beginning of the game.
The Forest has 3 different types of fishes:
- Barkfin ° ｡ 𓆝° ｡
- Ironjaw Pike ·˙‧̍̊˚𓆛·˙‧̍̊
- Moss Darter * ‧̍̊ ˚𓆛˙‧̍̊
