On Your Tail Mysteries and Achievements

This guide will show you how to find every clue and play every card to solve all the mysteries in On Your Tail.

Mysteries

Here’s how to solve all the mysteries by finding all the clues and playing all the cards:

The Lost Keys

• Use your Chronolens on the hood of the car for the first clue: Items on the hood.
• Scan the map stuck on the tree to the left of the car for the second clue: Map on tree.
• Play the cards in this order:
  1. Items on the hood
  2. Map on tree
• Solving the mystery will earn you the Budding Investigator achievement.

Theft at Villa De Montoni

• Use your Chronolens on the chest next to the window in the living room to find the Open Chest clue.
• Scan the floor below the corner bookcase upstairs for the Books on the Ground clue.
• Scan the dresser on the opposite side of the upstairs area to find the Messy drawers clue.
• Talk to Orlando, then leave the house and head to the village.
• Visit Foto & Foto and take Paun with you before heading to Chea’s Workshop.
• Talk to Chea at her workshop on the east side; she will ask you to deliver a Snorkel to Lexua outside. (Note: Diana will not speak to Lexua without Paun.)
• After delivering the Snorkel, return to Chea. After a conversation with the mayor, you’ll receive the final clue: Chea’s prototype.
• Play the cards in this order:
  1. Books on the ground
  2. Messy drawers
  3. Open chest
  4. Chea’s prototype
• Return to the Villa and speak with Orlando. He will task you with finding a place to stay.

Theft at Mamma Lucia’s

• Talk to Mamma Lucia at her restaurant to receive the Telephone call clue.
• Scan the hat rack near the door for the Hat on the ground clue.
• Scan the cupboard to the left of the counter for the Messy cupboard clue.
• Scan the chair near the wine shelf for the Chair out of place clue.
• Play the cards in this order:
  1. Telephone call
  2. Messy cupboard
  3. Chair out of place
  4. Hat on the ground
• Diana will then continue her investigation outside with Without a Trace.

Without a Trace

• Start with the Telephone call and Robbery at Trattoria clues.
• Go up the stairs to the right of Lucia’s restaurant. Knock on the green door and choose the Without a Trace option with Bruna. She will mention broken branches. Scan the branches to get the Broken branches clue.
• Talk to Giovanna near the door to the left of the restaurant to receive the Comforting talk clue.
• Head further left to the door at the bottom of the stairs and talk to Ernesto. He will give you the Thunderstorm clue.
• Go to the right side of the beach and scan the empty boat spot near the rocks for the Missing boat clue.
• Play the cards in this order:
  1. Broken branches
  2. Thunderstorm
  3. Telephone call
  4. Robbery at Trattoria
  5. Comforting talk
  6. Missing boat

The Perfect House

• Speak with Gemma at the coffee stand on the beach for suggestions about places to stay. Follow the markers on your map to investigate each house and gather their respective clues.
• Play the cards in this order:
  1. Yearning for company
  2. A restaurant downstairs
  3. Learning to fish
  4. The church is noisy

Accuse the Mayor

• Obtain a boat license to access Fort Esterin:
  1. Purchase the Boat License: Intensive Course book from the bookstore for 1500L. Read it and complete the mini-game to pass the test.
  2. Visit the post office with 100L for a stamp to endorse your license. Return the next day to collect it.
• Rent a boat near Chea’s Workshop for 3000L. Head to Fort Esterin.
• During the journey, you may continue the Catch a Thief mission or go straight to Fort Esterin. Stop at the lighthouse and speak with the guardian, who will direct you to the abandoned train station.
• Interact with Lexua’s boat on the beach near the station to begin the Path of (No) Return task. Inspect the collapsed tunnel and return to your boat.
• Continue toward the waypoint. You will lose consciousness and wake up rescued by Lexua. Speak with Beatrice (Orlando’s wife) and the mayor. These are dead ends, so keep searching for the thief.
• Head back to sea and travel to Fort Esterin. Speak with Gordon to begin a treasure hunt:
  • Interact with the bottle at the base of the lighthouse for a clue.
  • Return to Fort Esterin, where the Accuse the Mayor mystery begins.
• Gather clues as follows:
  1. Speak with Gordon for the Children sent out and Scolding Giovanna clues.
  2. Talk to Giovanna for the Strolling Giovanna clue.
  3. Talk to Menettu for the Time flies clue.
  4. Speak with Paun for the Paun runs after a photo clue.
  5. Scan the crate (near the stairs) with a life preserver for the Life ring thrown clue.
  6. Scan the rope near the water for the Removed rope clue.
  7. Scan the footprints near the hand truck by the stairs for the Footprints on the sand clue.
• Play the cards in this order:
  1. Scolding Giovanna
  2. Strolling Giovanna
  3. Footprints in the sand → Combine with Strolling Giovanna to form Giovanna on the rocks. Play that card.
  4. Children sent out
  5. Paun runs after a photo
  6. Removed rope → Combine with Paun runs after a photo to form Paun runs on the walkway. Play that card.
  7. Time flies
  8. Life ring thrown
• Speak with Gordon to trigger a cutscene that concludes the mystery.

Achievements

There are 45 achievements in all:

   Solve the mystery at Forte Esterìn.

   Repair your Vispa.
7. Wave After Wave
   Take the boat out for the first time.

   Interrogate Cecilia.
9. Wine, Cheese and Occult Symbols
   Solve the mystery in Adriano’s cellar.
10. Church Attack
    Solve the mystery in the church.
11. Let’s Do Things Sensibly
    Help Chea tidy up her tool bag.
12. Weeping Willow
    Solve the mystery of Moira’s disappearance.
13. It Wasn’t Me!
    Clear your name in Accused.
14. The Long-Lost Daughter
    Reunite Tonu and Peina.
15. And They Lived Ever After…
    Stop the disaster.
16. Going Home
    Leave Borgo Marina.
17. Time for Reflection
    Place the book by the collapsed tunnel.
18. Ready Steady Cook
    Cook your first recipe.
19. You’ve Got Mail
    Deliver your first letter.
20. The Postwoman Always Rings Twice
    Deliver all the letters.

    Complete all levels of the waitress minigame.

    Catch all the fish.

    Beat the record on World Out There at the arcade.

    Win against a friend in skipping stones.

    Visit ten different Rest Spots with a friend.

    Reach the maximum level of friendship with Paun.
36. On-Again, Off-Again
    Reach the maximum level of friendship with Adriano and Cecilia.
37. The Perfect Fit
    Reach the maximum level of friendship with Chea.
38. Travel Buddies
    Reach the maximum level of friendship with Peina.
