In this guide, I explain how I find Liv’s mementos and diary records, including when the quest line becomes available, how the Adder Stone works, where each memento is located, and how I unlock every diary recording.

Liv Mementos and Diary Records Guide

This quest line becomes available in Act 2 after I have escaped once. I do not manually turn in the mementos after finding them. Instead, when I discover a memento, Liv calls me at the end of the day on a phone that does not accept outbound calls and tells me about her memories.

Her diary recordings work differently, because they do not have an associated phone call.

Mementos

General Hints and Tips

To find these items, I need the Adder Stone. The Adder Stone can only be used once per day, so I may want to use save and quit to test different items.

Three out of four mementos can be found in the same area: upstairs in my room.

Item 1

The first memento is nailed down next to my bed.

Item 2

The second memento is inside my closet.

As of the original guide’s writing, this item is no longer accessible if the closet has started to look different recently. This was noted as something that should be patched later.

Item 3

The third memento is in my bathroom.

The fourth memento is in the storage room, placed on a shelf.

Diaries

Liv’s diary recordings do not trigger the same kind of phone call as the mementos. Instead, I need to find or unlock each record by following its own clue.

Record 1

  • This record is locked up tight.
  • The code is in my room.
  • I need a black light to read it.
  • The code is 87352.
  • I use it on the storage room vault.

Record 2

  • This record requires some altered perception.
  • The clue asks whether I have been seeing skulls lately.
  • It is in the same place as one of Liv’s other mementos.
  • I can find it in my closet if I am insane.

Record 3

  • This record appears in the pneumatic tube after I input the L – C – R sequence on the buttons in my bathroom.
  • The sequence is connected to the Hesitation Waltz.
  • I can acquire the Waltz in the shop catalogue.
  • The correct input is: R, L, R, L, C, C.

Record 4

  • The clue asks where I would put something if I wanted to make sure no one would ever find it.
  • The answer is the shredder.
  • I stand on the shredder before activating it.
  • After that, I look for a disk on the ground near some other stuff.
