IGTAP an Incremental Game: How to get Quam Formidolosum Achievement

This guide explains the route I use to unlock the Quam Formidolosum achievement in IGTAP during a Vman run. I cover the upgrades I prepare beforehand, the movement techniques I rely on, which courses I complete or skip, and the route I follow to reach the end screen.

Quam Formidolosum Achievement Guide

This guide contains spoilers for late-game content in IGTAP. I recommend using it only after escaping the facility and earning the “The greatest adventure is what lies ahead” achievement.

How the Quam Formidolosum Achievement Works

To unlock Quam Formidolosum, I need to reach the screen that shows I have beaten the game. I can find this screen around the teleporter hub, near the area where the Red Power upgrades begin.

I have to reach this location during an actual Vman run. Practice mode does not unlock the achievement.

Vman Currency Mechanics

The route relies heavily on how currency works inside Vman courses. After I complete a course, I can purchase upgrades from that tier without limit.

For example, completing Course 1 allows me to buy all Tier 1 upgrades located beside that course. The same system also applies to buttons from lower tiers. If I complete Course 5, I can purchase the buttons that would normally be unlocked by Courses 1 through 4.

I use this mechanic to skip certain courses and shorten the run considerably.

Movement Tech I Use for the Run

This route also requires solid mechanical control, especially with the Omni-Dash. I need to be comfortable with several movement techniques before attempting Course 10.

  • Wavedash: I dash diagonally into the floor and then jump.
  • Floor Bounce: I dash directly into the floor and then jump.
  • Wall-Wavedash: I dash diagonally upward into a wall and then jump.

These techniques are especially important for reaching and completing Course 10.

Quam Formidolosum Requirements

Recommended Time Upgrades

The amount of time I need depends heavily on my mechanical skill. A strong player may be able to finish the route with around 330 seconds. For an average attempt, I recommend roughly 380 seconds, while 400 seconds or more gives extra room if I am struggling with the movement.

If I need more time, I make sure to collect the +120 seconds upgrade located toward the top right of the upper section of the facility, in the area where the credits appear.

Required Starting Upgrade

I also make sure I have purchased the upgrade that lets me begin every Vman run with an omni-directional dash. I will usually already have it by this point, but it is required for this route.

Quam Formidolosum Route

Once I have enough time and the required starting upgrade, I begin the run and follow the route below.

Starting Area

  1. I begin by going to Course 1 and collecting the wall jump.
  2. I move to Course 2 and purchase the additional dash.
  3. I continue to Course 3 and buy the +1 midair jump.
  4. Instead of continuing along the normal route, I head all the way left toward Course 5, which is located to the left of the spawn area.
  5. After completing Course 5, I do not need to purchase any upgrades there. I instead make my way toward Course 4.
  6. I do not enter Course 4. Instead, I purchase the left-most upgrade that switches block colors twice.

Second Area: Grassy Section

  1. The block color upgrades allow me to enter the foliage area.
  2. I drop down and continue through the area until I reach the Atom section.
  3. I purchase an Atom to unlock the door.
  4. I buy my first upgrade from the upgrade tree.
  5. I make my way to Course 6 and complete it.
  6. I purchase the left-most upgrades on the upgrade tree until I can access Course 7.
  7. After completing Course 7, I continue buying upgrades that generally lead upward and to the right.
  8. I keep going until I unlock the large L-shaped grass platform that leads toward Course 10.
  9. I use Wavedash movement to cross toward Course 10 without using the zip movers.

How I Complete Course 10

  1. I start with a Wall-Wavedash on the first zip mover so I can clear the first group of spikes.
  2. At the bottom, I move to the right-most platform and Wavedash from it.
  3. I use my remaining dashes and midair jump to reach the first available wall.
  4. I then Wall Bounce from the vertical zip mover to get back upward.
  5. At the top, I use my remaining jumps and dashes carefully until I reach the zip mover and refresh them.
  6. Once I reach that point, I can finish the rest of Course 10 normally.

After Course 10

  1. I Wavedash back across the gap toward the upgrade tree.
  2. I purchase the “Activate zip movers” upgrade.
  3. I continue purchasing upgrades until I unlock Omni-Directional Dash.
  4. This opens a path through the roof, which I use to continue forward.
  5. At the next upgrade tree, I purchase upgrades toward the left until I reach the first upgrade that costs Red Power.
  6. From there, I jump to the left and reach the end screen to unlock the Quam Formidolosum achievement.
