Basic Elements and Spells:

Using your four inks, you can create a variety of spells. Each ink represents an element:

  • F = Fire ink
  • W = Water ink
  • E = Earth ink
  • A = Air ink

Spells have three power levels, indicated by numbers. While you won’t use most of these spells regularly, this is a comprehensive list.

Level 1 Spells

These starting spells use only the basic inks:

Fire (F+F)

  1. Create flames.
  2. Create a stream of fire.
  3. Create a fireball.

Water (W+W)

  1. Create puddles.
  2. Create lakes.
  3. Create rivers.

Air (A+A)

  1. Compress air.
  2. Shoot compressed air.
  3. Create a vacuum.

Earth (E+E)

  1. Harden the ground.
  2. Raise earthen walls.
  3. Create a hill.

Steam (W+F)

  1. Increase humidity.
  2. Create hot, humid environments.
  3. Generate high-pressure steam.

Levitate (A+F)

  1. Lighten the body.
  2. Make bodies levitate.
  3. Fly freely.

Void (E+F)

  1. Magic with no effect.
  2. Magic with no effect.
  3. Nullify magic (grants an achievement).

Mist (A+W)

  1. Fill the area with mist.
  2. Create clouds.
  3. Make rain.

Growth (E+W)

  1. Make flowers bloom.
  2. Grow trees.
  3. Create a forest.

Dust (A+E)

  1. Make air dusty.
  2. Create smog.
  3. Create a dust storm.

Level 2 Spells

Level 2 spells combine previous spells or elements, as only two inks can be combined directly.

Wind (Air + A)

  1. Create a breeze.
  2. Create gusts of wind.
  3. Create a storm.

Stone (Earth + E)

  1. Create a stone.
  2. Create a rock.
  3. Create a boulder.

Breath (Growth + A)

  1. Enhance cardiovascular fitness.
  2. Breathe at high altitudes.
  3. Breathe underwater.

Stealth (Mist + A)

  1. Thin your presence.
  2. Erase your presence.
  3. Become invisible.

Heat Haze (Mist + F)

  1. Create optical illusions.
  2. Induce hallucinations.
  3. Confuse the mind.

Heal (Growth + W)

  1. Heal minor wounds.
  2. Heal broken bones.
  3. Reattach severed body parts.

Level 3 Spells

These spells require two created elements instead of new inks.

Penetration (Stone + W)

  1. Unlock mechanisms.
  2. Slip through narrow gaps.
  3. Penetrate walls.

Light (Heat Haze + F)

  1. Brighten surroundings.
  2. Create beautiful halos of light.
  3. Create a rainbow.

Darkness (Void + Dust)

  1. Darken surroundings.
  2. Enhance dark vision.
  3. Meld with shadows.

Mind (Void + Growth)

  1. Enhance concentration.
  2. Clear distracting thoughts.
  3. Preserve a memory.

Transformation (Heat Haze + Growth)

  1. Change an object’s colors.
  2. Transform an object’s shape.
  3. Alter an object’s properties.

Cleanliness (Dust + Wind)

  1. Remove stains.
  2. Eliminate odors.
  3. Purify pollution.

Level 4 Spells

At this level, combining advanced elements unlocks complex magic.

Communication (Mind + Breath)

  1. Translate languages.
  2. Communicate with animals.
  3. Communicate with spirits.

Resonance (Wind + Breath)

  1. Induce empathy.
  2. Transfer emotions.
  3. Share emotions.

Movement (Wind + Wind)

  1. Increase movement speed.
  2. Teleport within sight.
  3. Create a portal.

Sleep (Mist + Mind)

  1. Induce drowsiness.
  2. Induce deep sleep.
  3. Induce a desired dream.

Hypnosis (Heat Haze + Mind)

  1. Cast suggestions.
  2. Control actions.
  3. Manipulate a memory.

Time (Light + Darkness)

  1. Slow down an object’s time.
  2. Stop an object’s time.
  3. Reverse an object’s time.

Charm (Mind + Penetration)

  1. Attract attention.
  2. Win favor.
  3. Induce love.

Fear (Darkness + Mind)

  1. Cause unease.
  2. Instill terror.
  3. Reveal someone’s greatest fear.

Replication (Transformation + Heat Haze)

  1. Replicate appearance.
  2. Replicate abilities.
  3. Clone an object or being.
