In this DinoBones Tidy Up the Museum achievement guide, I cover the main museum mechanics, skeleton progress achievements, special unlocks, cassette and photo achievements, and all of the souvenir coin locations shown in the guide.
All Achievements & Collectibles Guide
Before working through the achievements, there are a few museum mechanics that I found useful to understand. Knowing how the boxes, bone placement system, monocles, Field Books, and expertise levels work makes it much easier to keep track of the skeletons.
Tips and Basic Mechanics
I can tell which species are inside each bone box. Every box contains bones from two different dinosaurs.
If I am unsure which dinosaur belongs to an exhibit, I check the plaque at the exhibit. There is also a museum map near the workshop where I start, and I can interact with the map for a clearer view.
Some bones are extremely small, including teeth, joints, and toes. If I lose one, I eventually get two tools that help me find it. The monocle unlocks at 50% progress for that dinosaur and highlights its bones using the matching monocle color.
The Field Book unlocks at 95% progress for that dinosaur. When I use it, a remaining bone for that dinosaur spawns behind me and sparkles. I can check my current progress with the TAB button.
The monocles and Field Books can be found in the workshop.
I also watch out for small bones when picking up nearby pieces, because bones that are colliding can sometimes get launched away.
When I try to place a bone, the placement indicator uses cold, warm, and hot colors to help show where it belongs. If I take a bone to the wrong dinosaur, it simply glows red.
The game also tells me what type of dinosaur the bone I am carrying belongs to. The categories are color coordinated with the monocles.
After reaching 10% expertise with a dinosaur, the bones I am carrying for that dinosaur appear yellow. The bone currently in my hand also highlights its location on the skeleton diagram. Some pieces use a circle to indicate the correct area.
One useful later unlock comes from the Brachiosaurus. After completing its head and getting the hammer connected to the Hammerhead achievement, I can use the hammer to remove the crates and pallets.
Progress Achievements
Perfect Fit
Place your first bone in the right slot.
Before I can place bones, I first need to repair a metal support. The game calls these supports carriers. I hit each of its bubbles five times until the carrier is fully repaired.
I personally repaired all nine carriers before starting on the bones. I also prefer placing the large bones sitting on pallets first because they are easy to handle and clearing them creates more space. Repairing all nine carriers also leads to the Solid Foundations achievement.
Solid Foundations
Straighten all nine steel supports.
For this achievement, I go through all nine exhibits and hit every bubble five times. When a support is finished, the game shows a visual of the complete skeleton and plays some music.
A Hundred Good Bones
Place 100 different bones in one museum.
This comes naturally while I work toward finishing the museum. The wording about “different bones” and “one museum” is not completely clear to me, but I take it to mean different dinosaur parts such as ribs, feet, and spine pieces placed across the exhibits.
A Bit of Everything
Place at least one bone in each of the nine exhibits.
I only need to place one bone for each dinosaur. If I am planning to complete every skeleton anyway, this achievement takes care of itself.
Taking Shape
Place 500 different bones in one museum.
This works like the 100-bone milestone, only this time I need to reach 500 bones. I do not need to focus on it separately if I am completing the museum.
A Thousand Pieces
Place 1,000 different bones in one museum.
This is another progress milestone and comes naturally while I continue completing the skeletons.
Room for Three
Complete three different skeletons.
I unlock this by reaching 100% completion on three different dinosaur skeletons.
Quite a Collection
Complete six different skeletons.
This is the same type of progress achievement, except I need to fully complete six skeletons.
Above It All
Complete the Brachiosaurus skeleton.
I need to fully complete the Brachiosaurus located in the center of the museum.
BinoBones
Complete all nine skeletons.
For BinoBones, I have to place every required bone and complete all nine dinosaur skeletons.
Skeleton Unlock and Museum Achievements
Hammerhead
Pick up the hammer that falls when the Brachiosaurus’s head is complete.
I only need two pieces to complete the Brachiosaurus head. Both pieces are found in the crate shown below.
Frill Seeker
Follow the light from the Triceratops frill, open the workshop cabinet and collect the watering can.
Snowed In
Dig the snow globe out of the mammoth’s snowdrift.
From Wing to Wing
Collect the glider revealed by completing the Pteranodon’s wings.
Who’s There?
Collect the first model piece from the hole under the rug beside the Tyrannosaurus rex.
Built by Hand
Connect every piece of the model kit in the workshop.
A Greener Museum
Grow every museum garden to full size at least once.
I first need the watering can connected to the Triceratops. The exact parts that trigger the unlock were still being checked in the original guide.
Once I have the watering can, I use it on every exhibit with green grass. The Mammoth exhibit does not count because its exhibit is snow rather than grass.
Right at Home
Set the snow globe down on a suitable surface beside the mammoth exhibit.
Come On In
Open the cat flap and let the cat into the museum.
Cassette Achievements
To unlock the cassettes, I complete the Parasaurolophus head. All nine cassettes are stored together inside a cabinet in the workshop.
On the Record
Follow the Parasaurolophus call and open the cassette cabinet.
The Parasaurolophus cranium is found in the following crate.
The mandible is found in this crate.
The Full Playlist
Play all nine cassettes at their matching exhibit kiosks.
When I place a cassette at the corresponding dinosaur exhibit, it is already turned on automatically. I only hear the dinosaur while I am close enough to the exhibit, and I do not need to stay there listening to the entire recording.
Photo Achievements
Lights, Camera
Follow the light from the skull dome, open the workshop drawer and collect the camera.
Say Meow
Take a photo with the cat visible in the frame.
Once I have the camera, I take a picture with the cat in the shot. I do not believe the photo needs to be saved or pinned on the wall for the achievement.
Small Wonders
Take a photo with your assembled T. rex model and the snow globe both in view.
Museum Portraits
Photograph each of the nine completed exhibits.
I take a photo of each dinosaur after its exhibit is fully completed. I am not certain whether all nine photographs also need to be saved to earn the achievement.
All Souvenir Coin Locations
There are nine souvenir coins to find. I cannot pick them up until I have unlocked the coin press machine.

Coin 1
I start inside the workshop. The first coin is on top of the plant pot.
Coin 2
The second coin is just outside the workshop to the right, near the front door.
Coin 3
The third coin is around the corner from the previous location.
Coin 4
The fourth coin is located to the left of the Triceratops exhibit stand.
Coin 5
The fifth coin is upstairs near the Spinosaurus and Kentrosaurus exhibits. When I face the stairs, I find it on the far-right wall.
Coin 6
The sixth coin is near the Mammoth. Facing the stairs, I look to the left near the stairs and the garbage can.
Coin 7
The seventh coin is between a pallet near the Parasaurolophus and the wall leading from the Mammoth area.
Coin 8
The eighth coin is near the T. rex. If I am looking toward the stairs, it is on the right pillar closest to them.
Coin 9
The original guide lists a ninth coin but does not provide a written location or a separate image for it.
Souvenir Coin Achievements
The Big Reveal
Follow the Kentrosaurus clue and uncover the souvenir coin machine.
No Empty Slots
Place all nine souvenir coins in the album.
More Than a Skeleton
For one species, finish its skeleton, add its coin to the album, and play its cassette.
The Curator’s Signature
Complete all nine skeletons, fill the coin album, and play all nine cassettes.
Bone Numbers
The original guide also tracks how many bones correspond to certain expertise percentages. Most of the table is still blank, but these are the values recorded in it.
