IRON NEST Heavy Turret Simulator: Elevation & TDC Guide

In the IRON NEST Heavy Turret Simulator, I do not need to deal with the complex ballistics of the real world when calculating my shots. If I want to fire without using the TDC-style computer, or if I reach the mission where the computer is damaged, I can calculate the correct elevation angle with a simple formula.

How to Calculate Elevation Without the TDC

When I need to calculate my shot manually, I only need to know the distance to the target and the number of charges I want to use. The formula gives me the elevation angle directly.

Elevation Formula

The formula I use is:

Elevation = Distance × 0.012 / Number of Charges

With the target distance and the number of charges, I can quickly calculate the elevation angle without relying on the computer.

Elevation Calculation Example

For example, if I know the enemy is approximately 6470 meters away, I can use 2 charges because they allow me to shoot up to 10 km.

First, I calculate:

6470 × 0.012 = 77.64

Then I divide the result by the number of charges:

77.64 / 2 = 38.82

This gives me an elevation angle of 38.82. I can also check the result on the in-game computer, which gives me the same angle.

Another Elevation Example

If my target is 4300 meters away and I want to use 5 charges, I use the same formula:

4300 × 0.012 / 5 = 10.32

In this case, my required elevation angle is 10.32.

What I Need to Calculate the Shot

Basically, all I need to know is the distance to my target. The red pencil helps me determine that distance, and once I have it, I can use the formula to calculate the elevation angle.

Enjoy, operators.
