Table of Contents
Mess Hall Snake Cabinet Puzzle Solution
The snake-shaped cabinet is located on the left side of the Mess Hall. Look closer at it to begin a puzzle involving four numbered windows and several rotating shape indicators.
Hint 1: Understanding the Numbers
Do not treat the numbers as a combination code. Each number tells you how many sides the shape or shapes inside that window must have in total.
Hint 2: Combining Shapes
The puzzle uses triangles, squares, and pentagons. A triangle has 3 sides, a square has 4, and a pentagon has 5. Some windows require one shape, while others require the combined total of two shapes.
Show the Full Solution
The four window values are 3, 9, 7, and 4. Rotate the dials until the following shapes appear:
| Window | Required Shape or Shapes |
|---|---|
| 3 | Triangle |
| 9 | Square + Pentagon |
| 7 | Square + Triangle |
| 4 | Square |
Once every window displays the correct total, press the lock button in the upper-right corner.

Result: The cabinet opens and you can collect the Sun Tablets.
Illusion Theatre Cauldron Deduction Solution
The first major deduction appears after investigating the crime scene in the Illusion Theatre and examining the body outline.
Hint 1: Who Opened the Cauldron?
Focus on the possibility that Mortuga opened the locked cauldron himself rather than being placed inside it by another person.
Hint 2: Where Was the Killer?
The deduction does not identify a person hiding elsewhere in the room. Consider whether the dangerous thing was already inside the cauldron.
Show the Full Solution
Connect the clues to form the following sentence:
Magnus Mortuga unlocked the cauldron and was killed by what was inside.
After completing the deduction, the game asks what stands out about the inside of the cauldron. Rotate it and select the scratches.

Result: Completing the deduction and identifying the scratches finishes the Prologue and begins Chapter One.
Child’s Room Wooden Chest Puzzle Solution
The Wooden Chest puzzle in the Child’s Room contains six illustrated cards and four glass lenses.
Hint 1: Assemble the Pictures
Begin by pairing the six cards into three complete pictures. Each completed picture must have a girl’s head on top and her doll directly underneath.
Hint 2: Follow Their Gaze
The girls on the outside should look toward the girl in the middle. The two remaining lenses belong on the outer dolls, with their sizes reversed relative to the dolls.
Show the Full Solution
- Arrange the cards into three vertical girl-and-doll pairs.
- Place an eye lens over the left girl so she looks toward the center.
- Place the other eye lens over the right girl so she looks toward the center.
- Place the small lens on the left girl’s doll.
- Place the large lens on the right girl’s doll.
- Do not place any lenses on the middle girl or her doll.
- Press the lock button in the upper-right corner.

Result: The chest opens and you can collect the Glass Eyeball.
Control Room Wires Puzzle Solution
The Control Room panel contains six colored plugs and twelve numbered sockets. The objective is to reproduce the image shown on the note beside the panel.
Hint 1: Match Colors and Symbols
The plugs are divided into three matching pairs: red triangles, yellow circles, and blue squares. Both plugs in a pair must be placed before their part of the display becomes clear.
Hint 2: Use the Numbered Sockets
Each color uses two sockets. The correct pairs are spread across the panel rather than being placed next to one another.
Show the Full Solution
| Wire Pair | Correct Sockets |
|---|---|
| Red Triangle | 1 and 12 |
| Yellow Circle | 4 and 6 |
| Blue Square | 7 and 11 |
The final socket arrangement is:
- Red: 1 and 12
- Yellow: 4 and 6
- Blue: 7 and 11

Result: The compartment in the control panel opens and you can collect the Captain’s Logbook.
Symmetry and Sinthia’s Piggy Bank Puzzle Solution
The Piggy Bank puzzle is found in Symmetry and Sinthia’s Bunk Room. Its movable facial features and accessories control the white numbers displayed on the panel on its back.
Hint 1: Check the Back
Rotate the pig and examine the number grid on its back. The red values are fixed targets, while the white values change when you adjust the pig’s features.
Hint 2: Balance Every Total
Adjust one feature at a time and check how it changes the white values. Every row and column must add up to its corresponding red number.
Show the Full Solution
- Hat pointing to the right
- Left eye pointing to the right
- Right eye pointing forward
- Nose pointing downward
- Left cheek illuminated
- Tongue sticking out
Rotate the pig after making these changes and confirm that the white values match the red totals in every row and column.
Result: The Piggy Bank opens and you can collect the Underwater Photo.
Dirk’s Cellphone Puzzle Solution
Dirk’s Cellphone is found inside the tuxedo in Dirk and Wirman’s Bunk Room. Its lock puzzle works like a crossword made from partial shapes.
Hint 1: Treat It Like a Crossword
Each inserted piece contributes to both a horizontal and a vertical shape sequence. A piece may appear correct in one direction but still be wrong in the other.
Hint 2: Start with A Across
The longest sequence gives you the most information. Complete A Across first, then use its intersections to solve B, C, and D Down.
Show the Full Solution
A Across
<- Backward L turned on its side
V>- Straight line
B Down
- Backward L
/<
C Down
U^V
D Down
- Upside-down U
- L turned on its side
- Straight line
Result: The phone unlocks. You can then inspect its messages, contacts, call information, and other available entries.
Wirman’s Typewriter Puzzle Solution
Wirman’s Typewriter puzzle uses three dials and a series of abstract symbols shown on the paper beneath the machine.
Hint 1: The Symbols Are Rotations
The symbols are not unrelated drawings. Each sequence shows the same basic shape rotating from one position to another.
Hint 2: Find the Missing Middle Step
Each turn changes a symbol by 45 degrees. Set the middle symbol on each row to the rotation that logically fits between the symbol on its left and the one on its right.
Show the Full Solution
Start with the right-hand dial because it has the most limited set of possible symbols. Match it to the missing 45-degree rotation shown on the paper, then repeat the same process for the middle and left dials.
Because the puzzle uses unnamed abstract symbols, the image below shows the exact final position of all three dials more clearly than a text description.

Result: Solving the Typewriter puzzle reveals a handwritten letter addressed to Wirman from Ibis.
Dream Chamber Bottle Puzzle Solution
The bottle puzzle is located behind the glass panel on the lower-right shelves in the Dream Chamber.
Hint 1: Examine the Contents
You can open the bottles and observe how their contents behave. Pay attention to how each liquid drips, whether it releases vapor, and how thick or thin it appears.
Hint 2: Match Each Description
The text above the bottles describes their physical behavior. Match each bottle to a description first, then move the corresponding lid into that position.
Show the Full Solution
Arrange the bottle lids in the following order from left to right:
- Arrow
- Bird Skull
- Moon
- Hand
- Eye
- Sun
Result: The glass panel opens. Afterward, inspect the bookshelf directly above the bottles to collect the Caretaker’s Journal.
Cargo Hold Pinboard Puzzle Solution
The Cargo Hold pinboard resembles a rough map of the Mortuga Submarine and includes movable character pieces.
Hint 1: It Is Not a Murder Timeline
Do not place the characters according to where they were during the night of the murder. The board is asking about their locations at the current stage of the investigation.
Hint 2: Use the Rooms You Explored
Match every living character to the room where you currently find them. One character no longer belongs in any room on the submarine map.
Show the Full Solution
Place each living character on the section of the map representing their current room. Place the deceased character, Magnus Mortuga, outside the submarine map.
The screenshot below shows the exact arrangement for the point in the story when this puzzle becomes available.

Engine Room Compass Puzzle Solution
The Compass Panel in the Engine Room contains four unusual colored compasses. Moving them changes how their indicators react to one another.
Hint 1: Test Their Behavior
Move the compasses close together and farther apart. Their needles behave differently depending on the position of the other compasses.
Hint 2: Identify the Four Personalities
You are looking for one compass that points away from the others, one that points toward them, one that acts like a clock, and one that refuses to cooperate normally.
Show the Full Solution
| Position | Compass |
|---|---|
| Top left | Yellow |
| Bottom left | Purple |
| Top right | Pink |
| Bottom right | Red |

The panel unlocks when all four colored compasses are placed in the correct positions.
