The Adventures of HILLS Endings and Boss Strategy

The Adventures of HILLS Endings and Boss Strategy

In this guide, I explain how I unlock every ending in The Adventures of HILLS and how I deal with some of the tougher boss fights. The ending section includes spoiler-heavy requirements for all five endings, while the boss strategy section covers useful tips for Albert and Tentacle Alpha.

Endings and Boss Strategy

This guide covers the ending requirements for The Adventures of HILLS and the strategies I use against some of the more difficult bosses. Since the ending conditions reveal important story details, I recommend reading only the sections you need if you want to avoid spoilers.

Ending Conditions

In the Recollection Room, I can check hints for unlocking story events, achievements, and endings. Whenever I am unsure about what I still need, I can enter the Recollection Room and review the available hints.

There are five endings in the game. The following section explains the requirements for each one, so it contains spoilers.

Hills the Adventurer

To unlock ED.1 Hills the Adventurer, I need to complete the required conditions and then defeat the final boss.

  1. Before the night of Day 2, I go to the tavern in the port district during the daytime and help Reda. Then, before the night of Day 6, I go to the Adventurers Guild during the daytime and meet Micoco through Reda.
  2. Before the night of Day 6, I go to City Forest, meet Cove, and help her gather mushrooms.
  3. Before the end of Day 6 daytime, I go to the port district and meet Misty, then work at the mayor’s mansion. After that, I must work at the mayor’s mansion one more time before the end of Day 6 daytime.
  4. Before clearing the game, I save up 50000G.

Among these requirements, conditions 1, 2, and 3 are shown in blue text in the Town Guide.

The Legendary Courtesan

To unlock ED.2 The Legendary Courtesan, I fulfill conditions 1, 2, and 3 from ED.1, but I do not save up 50000G before clearing the game.

Burning Gadola

To unlock ED.3 Burning Gadola, I fulfill condition 1 from ED.1, but I clear the game without uncovering the mastermind’s conspiracy.

Human Ranch

To unlock ED.4 Human Ranch, I fail to fulfill condition 1 from ED.1. This means I do not meet Micoco, and I reach the end of the night of Day 9.

A Fleeting Life

To unlock the hidden ending, ED.5 A Fleeting Life, I follow a specific chain of events starting on Day 7.

  1. On the daytime of Day 7, I go to the general store in the Slums and trigger the event where Albert’s pendant is returned.
  2. On the same day, while rescuing Sara in the Great Underground Hall in the Slums, I obtain the Amorphous Construct and meet the Mysterious Merchant.
  3. On the daytime of Day 8, I talk to the Mysterious Merchant in the Slums. After losing to him in a one-on-one fight, I infiltrate the Great Underground Hall alone again.
  4. After reaching the lowest floor and triggering the event, I reduce the boss’s HP below 70% to unlock A Fleeting Life.

Boss Strategy Tips

Some bosses in The Adventures of HILLS require more careful timing and party management. These are the strategies I use for Albert and Tentacle Alpha.

Albert

Albert charges up on fixed turns and then releases a powerful attack on the following turn. Because of this, I need to use my character’s evasion counter skill on the correct turns.

When I successfully use the evasion counter skill, it stacks a Buff. After that Buff reaches its limit, I can combine it with a strong skill to defeat him.

Since every skill uses TP, I mainly rely on normal attacks and evasion counter skills during the early turns. Later in the fight, if I have enough TP available, I use shields or Ice Rend at the right moments to recover HP.

The key to winning this battle is patience. I steadily build up Buffs and TP, survive his charged attacks, and then use my stronger options when the timing is right.

Tentacle Alpha

Tentacle Alpha has very high HP and can summon tentacles to help it during the battle. For this fight, my party can include up to three members: Hills, Micoco, and Cove.

Micoco works as the main damage dealer, while Hills and Cove focus more on support and survival.

  1. I keep Hills and Cove alive by defending when needed and using items or healing spells to recover HP.
  2. With Micoco, I focus on building TP so I can use her ultimate skill, Ultimate: Endless Rampage.
  3. Ultimate: Endless Rampage is an area attack that can hit both Tentacle Alpha and its summoned minions. I use this skill first to reduce the number of enemies on the field.
  4. Once fewer enemies remain, I focus my attacks on Tentacle Alpha.
