Dark Hours Supernatural Monsters Guide

In this guide, I will explain important information such as traits, weaknesses and attacks of supernatural monsters you can encounter in Dark Hours. New monsters will be added to this guide as they are discovered.

Dark Hours Monsters List

It will help you understand monsters and deal with them properly.

Premonitions

Shortly after each round begins, you’ll receive a brief glimpse of the monster for that round. Be aware that this premonition can sometimes appear after the monster has already spawned.

Blind Ghoul

A nosferatu-like creature with elongated limbs.

Traits:

  • Hearing – The ghoul can detect sounds like doors opening or voices through mics. To avoid detection, crouch-walk and avoid running.
  • Blind – Lacks vision entirely, so staying quiet and keeping distance are effective.

Attack:

  • The Blind Ghoul attacks by contact. Once it senses and reaches a human, it initiates an attack animation, leaving the victim downed. You can interrupt this by using a single foghorn blast before the attack completes. If the foghorn is used after a certain point in the animation, the ghoul will be stunned, but the victim remains downed.

Weaknesses:

  • Foghorn – A foghorn blast stuns the ghoul. You don’t need a full blast—just enough to see the ghoul reel. After each stun, wait briefly before the next blast to keep it effectively stunlocked.
  • Tranquilizer Gun – Tranquilizer darts can slow the ghoul’s movements.

Note: For items stored in noisy containers or display cases, open them carefully, hide immediately, and wait for the ghoul to stop investigating before resuming.

Stone Stalkers

Statue-like creatures resembling marble women. Similar to “weeping angels” from Doctor Who, they move only when unseen.

Traits:

  • Move When Unseen – Stone Stalkers only move when they aren’t within a human’s sight and can travel quickly. You’ll hear a scraping stone sound when they’re on the move.

Attack:

  • They down humans through contact with a grabbing attack.

Weakness:

  • Visual Contact – Try to gather all visible statues in one area (a maximum of five may spawn) and have one player keep eyes on them, allowing others to progress safely.

Hidebehind

A black, shadowy, humanoid tree-monster with glowing eyes.

  • Traits:
    • Ethereal: Not physically present, allowing it to disappear and teleport.
  • Attack:
    • When manifesting, it slowly approaches and grabs any humans it touches.
    • Once three fuses are active, it becomes faster and loses its cooldown period after a kill.
  • Weakness:
    • Camera Flash: Can be temporarily banished using a camera flash.
  • Note:
    • Sometimes disappears when directly looked at; it’s unclear if this is a vulnerability.

Banshee

A spectral, blue ghostly woman.

  • Traits:
    • Ethereal: Not physically present, so it can disappear and teleport.
    • Singing: Sings while idle; hearing eerie singing indicates her presence.
  • Attacks:
    • Begins with a wail that freezes everyone nearby, then approaches the closest person for a grab attack.
    • With three active fuses, she gains a dash ability, allowing her to move quickly in a straight line, downing anyone in her path.
  • Weakness:
    • Earmuffs: Protect against her wail, preventing freezing if within range. Direct contact still triggers her grab attack, resulting in being downed.
  • Note:
    • Can sometimes pass through walls to kill. Frozen individuals can be warmed up by others or with a hairdryer if not immediately attacked.
