Price High

In most shopkeeping games, you choose your prices. At first, I increased my prices just a little, so I wouldn’t upset my new villagers too much. But then I tried pricing as high as possible and had my best money day yet!

In the morning, I made 4,500 amber, and by the afternoon, I made 7,400 amber. It was a game-changer!

Resource Areas

What’s a resource area? These are special spots where you can gather materials every day. After clearing places like the Meadows, resources may respawn slowly. But if you unlock these resource areas, you get materials like stone or wood daily. You can also find these areas on the map.

Fast Travel

The map can get pretty big, but fast travel is already in the game. There are two ways to travel quickly:

  1. Use the “Return to Shop” button in the bottom right corner of the map to teleport back to your shop.
  2. As you unlock new areas, red pins appear on the map. You can teleport to these pins to save time.

Character Customization

Amber Isle has an awesome character creator with many ways to customize your dinosaur! If you want to change your look later, just go to the mirror in your bedroom to update your appearance.

Window Bonus

In the tutorial, we learn that placing items in front of windows increases their selling price. I later found more windows in the store that weren’t easy to spot unless I moved the camera. Now, I have eight places for window boosts!

Shop Storage

If your inventory is always full, don’t worry! There’s shop storage right by your till. It has multiple pages of storage, and the best part? When crafting, you can use items from storage without moving them back to your inventory.

Quick Sale Box

At first, you can only sell a limited number of items each day. If you have too many items, try using the quick sale box outside your shop. It sells items quickly, though at a lower price. I use it to get rid of extra resources like dirt.

Crafting Upgrades

When crafting in Amber Isle, you’ll see a blue bar at the top of the screen. The more you craft an item, the better its quality becomes. Once an item levels up, its base price increases. This price increase will automatically show up in your shop too.

Trending Resources

Before opening your shop, check the top right of your menu for the trending resource of the day. It’s usually something like stone or clay. Selling items made from trending resources will give you a price boost.

Custom Orders

At the bottom of the menu, you can find your custom orders. This shows what has been ordered and how much time you have left to make the items. Once ready, place the custom orders in the box next to your counter to avoid accidentally selling them.

Moving Houses

One of your main goals is to invite new villagers to live in Amber Isle. After placing a house blueprint, you may want to move it. You can do this at the decoration stall in the town square, where you can also decorate the town.

Villager Stores

Once you build a villager’s house, they may open a store where you can buy items. For example, when I built Nellie’s house, she opened a lumber store. You can only buy a limited amount each day, but it’s really helpful if you need specific resources.

Hanging Out

When collecting resources, invite a villager to hang out with you by talking to them. Hanging out boosts your friendship, and leveling up friendships unlocks perks like better shop prices and unique blueprints.

Best Gifts

You can also boost your friendship by giving gifts. Villagers will accept almost anything, even dirt or lumber, so don’t worry about giving them the perfect gift.

Camera Controls

At the bottom of the screen, you’ll see icons showing how to rotate the camera with the right stick. You can also zoom in and out using L2 and R2, which is super helpful if you don’t like the default zoom level.
