This guide will help you customize and make the most of your Gunpla EX/OP skills in Gundam Breaker 4.
Mastering EX and OP Actions for Gunpla
This guide seeks to answer the question a lot of people have regarding Gunpla EX/OP skill customization in Gundam Breaker 4, while providing tips on how to efficiently reach the point that you can customize these things.
Unlocking Synthesis and Using Plastics
To start using EX and OP Skills, you need to unlock the ability to level up and increase the Rarity of your Gunpla. This happens when you reach Chapter 3 in the Main Story. Once you’re there, you’ll unlock the Synthesis function, which lets you enhance your Gunpla parts. The first mission in Chapter 3 will start dropping Parts Enhance Plastics, and the mission after that will drop Parts Evolve Plastics.
- Parts Enhance Plastic: These go from rank I to VI and help you level up your Gunpla parts. The higher the rank, the more it helps max out your part’s level. Your parts can reach a level cap of 50 after completing all Story Missions.
- Parts Evolve Plastic: These go from rank I to IV and increase the Rarity of your Gunpla parts. The Rarity Stars cap at 5 Gold, but you’ll have to manually push parts to this rank as they only drop at 5 Purple Stars or below.
Remember, Plastic drops depend on the mission’s Difficulty level. Plastic won’t drop from Hardcore Difficulty Missions before Chapter 3 Mission 1, so play on Extreme Difficulty or higher if you want Plastic from those missions.
The Plastic Grind
After Chapter 3 Mission 1, Plastic drops more frequently as you play. Here are some tips to help you get more Plastic:
- Use a Breaker Booster: This almost doubles the amount of Plastic you get during a mission.
- Break Your Opponents: Breaking enemies helps you get Plastic, but each enemy has a limit on how much Plastic it can drop. Once it hits the limit, it won’t drop any more Plastic, but it can still drop parts.
- Try Survival Mode: This mode unlocks later in the game and is a great way to get Plastic. You’ll face up to 50 waves of enemies, and if you survive long enough, you’ll collect a ton of Plastic. Using a Breaker Booster in Survival Mode can give you almost as much Plastic as three missions in a fraction of the time.
Mastering EX/OP Actions
When you increase the Rarity of any Gunpla Part with an EX/OP Action that has this symbol next to it, you’ll be able to Master that skill. This lets you equip it on any Gunpla, no matter which parts you have equipped.
In the EX Actions Menu, pick a slot, choose the EX Skill, and then select the part you want to use it from.
Using Mastered EX/OP Actions
Once you’ve mastered a skill, just equip it and enjoy! But there’s one small thing to note. When you use a skill from another part, the part’s wireframe will show up on your Gunpla when you activate the skill, even if you’re not wearing that part.
For example, if you have the Gundam MK-II AEUG backpack equipped, using the Mastered Skill will cause the Wire Frame to appear, even if you’re already wearing the part.
