Dungeonborne: Class Guide

In this guide, I will talk about the details of the classes in the game and how to play solo and in trio.

Pros and Cons of the Dungeonborne Classes

Dungeonborne Class guide

Fighter

This class is mostly balanced for trios. Suitable for beginner players.

Almost always needed in a trio. Has escape ability

  • +: He has dash ability. There is a Will passive (always worth taking) that removes team damage. Easy to clear PvE rooms, comfortable bossing. Huge damage from the whirlwind against mages, a lot of health that can be increased with items, and about 2000. (starting about 1100)
  • -: Whirlwind damage can be blocked. During a whirlwind, you are vulnerable as you cannot block. Has problems against magicians.
  • Good matchup’s: Cryo/priest/pyro/rogue
  • Bad matchups: DK/SM
  • Trio setup: Pyro+Cryo/Priest+DK/Cryo+2 Fighter

Swordmaster

A very strong class in 1v1 duels on solo maps.

In the trio, the swordmaster is a strong frontliner.

  • +: Race – Elf, ability to ambush, or deaggro monsters or bossea.

Strong reduction in damage from E skill, high damage from rotation. The ability to clear many mobs with a reduction in damage received on yourself. Ability to be healed by sword throws. Counterpick to mages.

  • -: 95% of your inventory is taken up by swords. The damage of thrown swords can be completely blocked.

There are problems in a trio against a pyromancer.

In a trio, a lot depends on your frontline skills.

  • Good matchup’s: Pyro/rogue/fighter
  • Bad matchup’s: Cryo/DK/
  • Trio setup: Cryo+Pyro/Priest+pyro/Cryo+Fighter

Death Knight

A very strong 1v1 class with a cool aura and grip.

One grip can turn the tide of a 3v3 fight. Has no escape.

Uncomfortable to play 2 undeads in trio.

  • +: Strong aura that deals a lot of damage to players. The ability to pull a running player at a decent distance. Also, the grip can be a very good initiation into the backline.
  • -: Almost nothing to kill PvE and bosses with. If desired, you can run out of the aura. The grip can be interrupted/blocked by a stone wall. He has no escape. Ability focused class. If you missed or kaited, you`re dead.
  • Good matchups: Anyone in melee
  • Bad matchup’s: Pyro/Cryo
  • Trio setup: Cryo+Fighter/Pyro+Fighter/Cryo+SM

Priest

Strong support class. With the possibility of instant resurrection. Reveals its power only in the presence of good items. (blue+purples)

  • +: Huge life saver, has time to flask more. Has the ability to time bubble shield and protect from massive dmg or cc effects and remove all slows or effects for that matter.

Resurrection can be great (a small issue is a delayed heal will sometimes accidentally resurrect teammates)

Allowed to snipe or beam dmg with fire staff or can use lighting actually still good DPS with gear

Heals also deal a lot of damage!

Abilities have a decent range actually

Perks are okay only need int and faith

  • -: Priest can’t 1vX, he can only when his teammates are next to him. Has no burst damage. Has no armor such as other mages. Has enough HP to play. Needs team to coordinate well with this class
  • Good matchup’s Pyro/cryo because the divine shield buff ignores knockback and freezing.
  • Bad matchup’s: Rogue/dk/cryo(freeze)/pyro(burst dmg)
  • Trio setup: Pyro+SM/DK+SM/Fighter+DK/Fighter+SM

Pyromancer

A very powerful mage with huge explosive damage. Can disrupt the reading of any spells with its pyroblast. Good impact against bosses.

More 3v3 class than 1v1. Still not bad in solo, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

  • +: High damage from a Pyroblast hit, additional damage from afterburn. There is a save in the form of a knockback from Fire Blast. Huge AoE, can deal 400 damage to anyone standing next to the Pyroblast target. Allows you to make a good impact in fights with bosses (especially Wengeful Monarch)
  • -: If you gave Fire Blast at the wrong time, in 90% of cases you are dead. Pyroblast’s large AOE can also cause damage to your teammates (which is very unpleasant). Charging pyroblast takes a long time.
  • Good matchup’s Any. It’s the strongest class.
  • Bad matchups: DK grip/Rogue Petrify/Cryo Ice Storm.
  • Trio setup: Cryo+SM/Cryo+DK/Cryo+Fighter

Rogue

A comfortable class for mob clearing and bossing.

In a trio PVP due to the small supply of health, it does not allow you to get close enough to do anything. This class is more suitable for protracted fights when your teammates can survive without your help and you can try to distract the enemy team and to do your sneaky moves.

In solo PVP, this is a good class that has high mobility and great escape thanks to invisibility, have higher chances to win a fight but requires high-skill of playing this class because of low life and low defense, one mistake can cost you a lot.

  • +: The best class for PvE. Huge damage to the back from daggers, can fast life steal to full health in pve with life steal passive while invisible. The ability to turn to stone for 10 seconds, and temporarily fight with a 2v3 advantage. Invisibility provides an advantage for regrouping.
  • -: Very little survivability. You need to think ahead a lot to be useful to the team. This class does not have instant escape, which means it does not forgive mistakes.
  • Good matchup: Any if you started 2v3 with Petrify.
  • Bad matchup’s Burst AOE damage. Pyro/cryo/DK.
  • Trio setup: Priest+DK/Priest+Fighter

Cryomancer

The strongest support class. The only class that is capable of catching and holding the entire enemy team.

Very impactful in good hands.

*In any case, I always use 2 lightning staves.

  • +: Can catch and freeze the entire enemy team. Good in any setup. Low dependence on gear. High damage from combos in PvP. Lots of survivability. Opportunity to heal in an ice block.
  • -: Weak in PvE. Low health. Low damage to monsters. Poor mobility. Very vulnerable after giving away the ice block. Useless passive perks.
  • Good matchups: Any if you starting first with ice storm.
  • Bad matchups: Rogue, double SM, Pyro(can interrupt Q)
  • Trio setup: Any. Very useful in each setup. Hard to play 2 undead(souls problem)

Druid

A fun class for “running around”.

In 3×3, this is the weakest class that does not give any impact other than turmoil on the screen. But seems to become more viable after the EA patch.

  • Pros: Greater speed in panther form. Summons trees that can block passages. A passive that allows you to see players through walls within 30m.
  • Cons: Although very mobile and versatile in Panther form, it’s very vulnerable against other classes that can fight back in a face-on. Depends highly on situational awareness to perform well, otherwise would just keep running.
  • Good matchup’s: Priest, Cryomancer
  • Bad matchup’s: Fighters (Accidently cut down your trees), Pyro (Easy to FF you with Pyroblast)
  • Trio setup: Cryo+Priest/Cryo+Swordmaster
